Born as Rahat Qureshi, he was a Urdu poet, Bollywood lyricist, a painter and a Professor of Urdu literature.
Born in Indore ,he completed his formal education from Madhya Pradesh. In 1985 he was awarded a PhD in Urdu Literature.
He performed in Mushaira and Kavi Sammelan for over four decades across India and has travelled multiple times to the US , UK, Canada, Australia and Middle Eastern countries.
He tested positive for Covid 19 and was admitted to hospital where he breathed his last on 11th August 2020 due to Covid related complications.
