Satish Kaul was an actor in both Punjabi and Hindi movies. He acted in over 300 Hindi and Punjabi films and worked with Bollywood actors such as Dev Anand, Dilip Kumar and Shahrukh Khan amongst others. His notable film roles included ones in Sassi Punnu, Ishq Nimana, Prem Parbat, Suhag Chooda and Patola.
Kaul was a Kashmiri Pandit, his father Mohan Lal Aima, a television director had migrated to Delhi. Kaul had developed an inclination towards Punjabi film industry because of his fluency in the language. , he decided to try his luck in Punjabi films and he succeeded. Kaul was first noticed as the romantic lead in 1973 movie Prem Parbat. He played the lead in a bunch of Hindi films and also character roles in many films including Dev Anand’s Warrant and Subhas Ghai’s karma.He had also acted in Television serials like Mahabharata and many others. He was awarded the Lifetime achievement award at PTC Punjabi Film Awards 2011.
Satish Kaul breathed his last on 10th April 2021 due to Covid19 complications. He was 74.
