Composer Shravan Rathod ,of popular music director duo Nadeem Shravan was a prolific music director in the Bollywood film industry. The duo had composed hit soundtracks for movies like Aashiqui, Saajan, and Sadak to name a few.
Shravan Rathod was born in a musical family. He is the elder brother of playback singers Roop Kumar Rathod and Vinod Rathod. His father Pandit Chaturbhuj Rathod , was a celebrated classical musician in the Dhrupad tradition. He grew up with instruments around him and was proficient in playing several of them.
Shravan and Nadeem were introduced to each other in 1972 and they started working togather in 1973. Their breakthrough soundtrack album was Aashiqui (1990) ,which sold 20 million units in India . They were also behind many other best selling Bollywood soundtrack albums in the 1990s. Nadeem – Shravan have won several awards during their music career, which includes Filmfare Best Music Director Award (1991, 1992, 1993, 1997), Star Screen Best Music Director Award (1997, 1998) and many others.
Shravan Rathod breathed his last on 22nd April 2021 due to Covid 19 complications.
