Passed away on 20.04.2021

Called by the name  Raja ,  literally he was with the  breadth of  love and affection for all , Nirupam Basu was born on 11th September 1968 in Falakata , Jalpaiguri. A family that looked nuclear with two children of parents both of whom were working in fairly good positions in government service  , was however ,  really much  broader in shape  with several cousins living under one roof . This  eternal rural upbringing fostered early in life in Raja  nurturing of values of collective living with  a fountain of love , a virtue that formed the core of his personality in the cruelly short span of life that he lived .

Moving to Kolkata from a mofussil town of Patakura in Coochbehar , Ranajit Basu's only son Raja strived hard , going to every corner to establish his business that he did successfully starting from a scratch . Raja used to itch seeing somebody looking for support , used to get restless to see some body in distress and had the not so usual trait of support the other man not looking for any support in return.

Nature had not been as blissful and the calm aggression of covid overpowered Raja before he could realize the knock. It came faster than lightening , dipping all around in mines of darkness that looks all pervading . Covid had been ruthless , draconian - else how could it decide to cut Raja's journey so short when he had just started to blossom with all the essence that life has.
